Wickshire Deer Park is celebrating a milestone birthday this week and it’s asking for birthday cards to help celebrate.
The assisted living facility’s beloved resident Mildred Kampman will be turning a record 108 years old on Tuesday.
Due to COVID-19, Mildred will not be able to celebrate as planned with her family.
However, Wickshire Deer Park staff have another idea up their sleeve for Mildred.
The assisted living facility is asking for the community’s help by sending Mildred a birthday card.
All residents of the community are invited to send their love by gathering their kids, friends and family to make her 108th birthday her best birthday yet, despite the coronavirus, staff said.
“Because of the current conditions regarding COVID and orders in place, we are not planning any sort of party for mom,” said Don Kampman, Mildred’s son. “Instead, I am contacting family, friends and the community and asking them to send her birthday cards. I hope she gets a bunch, she definitely deserves it.”
